At any given time there are more people looking for legal information than looking for a law firm to contact. Are you doing things that get you in front of people in the Information Seeking stage?

I recommend creating lots of video content that is targeted toward responding to a specific question or issue. You want to be found when someone searches for a specific question or topic, like “how can a divorce influence a domestic violence case?” You may not get a million people to view that particular video, but you’ll get the right ones.

The video above is an example.

What kinds of things have you tried that have worked (or not)?

Attorneys who would like to be interviewed (about 20 minutes on the phone) will get a copy of the book when it’s published. Contact me for more details or if you’d like to participate. dzimbalist@facesmedia.com

Leverage: Be In Lots Of Places At Once

Leverage: Be In Lots Of Places At Once:
You can only be one place at one time…or can you? Forward thinking attorneys have figured out that there might just be a way, or even a few ways, to get around that old physical and metaphysical conundrum. I call this the concept of Leverage.

Can you in some manner meet and talk with potential clients and referral sources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Yep. Is it easy to do this correctly and reliably? Nope. I always recommend focusing on a couple of matters when developing a plan for leveraging yourself with web video:

Build your Leverage System around something that you already know works.

Use your Leverage System to be in front of potential clients where they are looking for information, even before they decide to look for a law firm to call.

Why will video (sometimes) help

Where most attorneys and video producers blow it

My recommendation, based on something you already know works

Next: The five common mistakes and how to avoid them.

Part 1 of my Feb 4 Webcast, “Attorney Video Basics and...

Part 1 of my Feb 4 Webcast, “Attorney Video Basics and Common Mistakes,” will discuss, among other things:

Getting Your Head in The Right Place

The reason people hire you

How your website will always work against you.

Pop some popcorn and enjoy.

Never Eat Alone

I read this book several years ago but just pulled it off my shelf again. I recommend that everyone reads “Never Eat Alone,” by Keith Ferrazzi. It’s an easy read and will get the wheels turning.

Will Video Hurt You?
